4 tips to stay sober during the holidays

Welcome to the

San Diego Sober Living Blog

We are excited to be able to bring you the first installment of the San Diego Sober Living blog. Here within we will introduce ourselves, discuss our mission with you and, finally, tell you what we hope to accomplish with this blog. So let’s get started!

Who We Are

San Diego Sober Living is located in the heart of San Diego, California. We have been helping women succeed in their recovery for over a decade. And it is our honor and privilege to be entrusted with the lives of those in our care. Our sober living house offers a clean and safe environment to help women as they transition into being productive members of society. We provide the nurturing and structure needed to develop the skills essential for permanent sobriety.

Our Mission

Our mission as a sober living is to provide a safe, structured environment for women to recover. Research has shown that a strong support group/community is vital to permanent recovery from addiction.1 Our goal is to help women succeed in recovery by giving them structure and introducing them to a strong support community with whom they can “do life together.” It is also our mission to show women that recovery is not a drab experience, but it is, dare we say, way more exciting than addiction. We leverage our beautiful city to show those in recovery the way life was meant to be lived…to the fullest.

Our Vision For The Blog

The vision for this blog is to give the reader an insight into our sober living, the San Diego community, and to offer resources to help those struggling with addiction or those who may know someone who is struggling with addiction. Addiction is a “family disease.” Therefore, everyone must have some understanding of both addiction and recovery if the family unit is going to thrive in sobriety. We also will offer tools to assist both the addict and the family on their life-long journey of recovery. Positive tools such as goal-setting techniques, job-interviewing skills, and relationship building. As we venture out on this journey together, we hope that this blog may in some small way assist all who read it to “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams!” and to “Live the life of you’ve imagined.” – Henry David Thoreau
